Soccer

My main school, Urawa Higashi, is playing in the Japanese national high school soccer tournament at the moment. They have 3 games to advance from the to 24 to the top 16. They won their first 2-1 and this one, the second game I've gone to, they lost 3-1. Only one of my students played as it's mostly the 3rd year students who get playing time. They need to win their next game to stay in it.

Urawa Higashi School Festival

The 9th and 10th were festival days at my main high school. It was a lot more fun than I expected. The kids all run their cafes, shops, displays, or put on some kind of performance. There are the typical school bands (divided by year I think), and each club has to enter something as well.

In near chronological order, the photos are:

1 - Class 1-8 with a great drum/dance routine.

2 - 1st year brass band. I teach these kids so I assume it's a first year only performance.

3 - The kougei club.

4 - Daisuke and I show off our bodypainting.

5 - Ichigo Daifuku rock out. They were generally very impressive. Much better than I remember high school bands in Canada being.
