上尾沼南の卒業式

I took a lot of pictures so this could be a 20 part series...

Today was the Shonan graduation. Not unlike a Canadian grad, except for the endless standing up, bowing sitting down. The girls (and a few guys) got pretty weepy through the ceremony. I've only known these kids for a year, but I was pretty moved by the whole experience.

I know what you're all thinking now...what did they choose as their graduation song? Of course, Mr. Children.

The photos:

1: A sign.

2: Two badminton kids. Where are the two missing hands? I'm protecting myself. What you've heard about Japanese junior high kids applies to high school kids too.

3: The center girl plays badminton. They're all first years.

4: Character of the year. Everyone seems to think it's because he's Chinese. I suspect he just has a sense of humour.
